Election of Members of the CAS Trust Board
Initial interim Board of the CAS Trust are standing down at the Special General Meeting to be held on Wednesday 24th April 2013. In accordance with the our rules and procedures they have set up an Election Management Group to oversee the process.
The Election Management Group will consist of
Election Committee Chair: Nigel Pamment
Independent overseer: Mike Woodhouse
CAS Trust Secretary: Richard Wiseman
Nominations are now invited for individuals willing to serve as Trust Board Directors.
The Trust Rules state that there shall be a Board of Directors comprising not less than 6 and not more than 10 persons. There are therefore 10 vacancies on the Board to be elected. For more information on the Trust rules click here
Should there be 10 or less candidates for the vacancies, there will not be a formal ballot of members but instead those people validly nominated will be put to the SGM.
The resulting Board shall then select Officers to serve on the Trust executive by majority vote, beginning with Chair and Vice Chair, and any others positions it sees fit.
If anyone has any query on this procedure, please contact Richard Wiseman – Society Secretary – (secretary@castrust.org)
People willing to contribute and serve on the board as a member must:
a) be a fully paid up Full Member of the Society
b) be nominated by two fully paid-up members of the Society.
An election nomination form must be completed and sent back to the Trust Secretary by no later than Wednesday 20th March 2013.
The form should either be sent electronically to secretary@castrust.org or by post to The Secretary, CAS Trust, c/o The Beehive, 365 Footscray Road, London SE9 2DR.
The form must have the names of two members who are nominating the candidate for election. The secretary will then contact the nominating members to confirm their nomination.
All candidates must submit with their nominations a written statement of no less than 100 words and no more than 500 words in support of their nomination and photograph and these will be posted to a section on our website
The Trust Secretary will issue postal ballot papers and copies of the candidates’ statements if there are more candidates than number of vacant seats. Please contact secretary@castrust.org if you have any questions relating to this process.
