Network Round-up; Belgian wobbles

Here are the details of last weekend's games:

Standard de Liege, Belgium

Jupiler Pro (1st) League; Play off round 1:

Club Brugge – Standard: 2-1 Att. 29,042

Standard got the best possible start in this crucial game at the “champions” of the pre-playoff phase, taking the lead after just 2 minutes, but they went down to two penalties. The three goals were apparently the only shots on target in the whole game. The result leaves Standard 7 points behind Brugge.

Unhappy Standard fan Defke reports :

After a very good start, 2 minutes play mistake by ryan en trebel put the ball into the goal. very closed game with lot of mistake - desutter would have normally got 2 yellow cards in the first half but got only 1. also an other bruges player got get 2 yeloow cards but also 1. Then a mistake from andrade and penalty for bruges - this was a penalty no doubt about it. Then another penalty - andrade made a sliding tackle in the penalty area ; Bruges player put the ball with passing against the hand of andrade ,can never be a penalty because he was not interested in the ball . after the game the ref said it was no penalty but the 5th ref give me a sign for penalty (there are touchline refs in the JL). On the 93 minute Bruges has a great opportunity to score for 3-1 but missed - so for me lot of faults from the ref and 1 penalty to much . even break ws more than just a good score - but we leave Bruges with nothing . On to the next game against Anderlecht sunday at home

Agrupación Deportiva Alcorcón, Spain

Segunda (2nd) Division

Alcorcon – Deportivo Alaves: 0-1 Att. n/a

A 70th minute goal from Czech international Jiri Jarosik and effectively leaves Alcorcon in the same position as Charlton, stuck in the middle with little to play for

Újpest FC, Hungary

NB 1 (1st Division)

Ujpest - Videoton: 0-1. Att. 1,295

“Ujpest Lad” reports:
We faced title contenders Videoton, who are leading the championship by 10 points.
All fans expected a heavy loss and were surprised that we were controlling the game for quite a while. Videoton only had a few chances during the game and succeeded to score in around the 35th min from a counter attack. The shape of the game did not change, we had several chances - without any results.

We lost the game, meaning after 5 spring games, we have 2 points, having us at the very bottom of the form table. The fans were already protesting and many were not present at the game.

Next week we have 'The Derby' against Ferencvaros, still expecting a very heavy loss.

Both Ferencvaros and Ujpest fans will be away from the game protesting against the federation, while Ujpest fans also against the Duchatelets.

Before that we are having a midweek fixture in Fehervar (again, against Videoton) in the first leg of the cup semis.

Sint - Truidense VV, Belgium

Belgian Division 2

Heist - STVV. Att. n/a

They are choking. 2 points from 3 games, and Lommel United (with 5 straight wins) have cut their lead from 10 to 3 points..

“Defke” reports:

STVV were initially in charge of Heist, but did not really create opportunities. On half an hour STVV suffered a severe setback. Jan Van Den Bergh scored against the run of play. Heist played well after that, but Piotr Parzyszek got a sliver of a chance to equalise. He missed..

In the second half Heist remained upright and extended the score even further. Gwenn Jacobs put the home side 2-0 and Bart Webers took on penalty for 3-0. Hilaire Momi scored a consolation to finish at 3-1.

FC Carl Zeiss Jena, Germany

Thuringia Regional cup

Einheit Rudolstadt - FCC: 1-2. Att. n/a
