Valley Gold Members to choose Young Player of the Year 2015

In recognition of the significant contributions made each year to Charlton's Academy by Valley Gold, for the first time members are being given the chance to choose the Young Player of the Year 2015.

Academy Manager Steve Avory and First Team Coach Damian Matthew have made three nominations from which Valley Gold members will select their winner:

Jordan CousinJordan Cousinss

Jordan has now made 90 appearances at first team level, with 43 of them being this season.

He has been a regular in this campaign and proved his versatility in playing across the midfield.  He has been at his most consistent in the recent run of improved team performances under Guy Luzon.

Morgan Fox

Morgan Fox

Morgan has made 30 appearances at first-team level this season.   The left-back took his opportunity when Rhoys Wiggins was a long-term injury victim earlier in the season and produced a consistent run of form – which also earned him further call-ups to the Wales U21 squad.

Joe Gomez

Joe Gomez

Still just 17, Gomez has now made 21 appearances for the first team this season. He has capably deputised for Chris Solly at right-back when needed and more recently played at his original academy position of centre back. He has also represented his country at U19 level annd played for the victorious England side in the UEFA European U17 Championship where he was named in the team of the tournament.

Voting will open on Monday, April 13th on the Valley Gold website, and members will need to make sure they include their Valley Gold number for it to count.  Voting will be open online until April 25th, and any votes cast after this date will not be included.

Members can also vote in person by visiting the Valley Gold window in the West Stand at the club's home fixture against Leeds United on April 18th. Again, a full name name and Valley Gold number must be included to register the vote.

The winner will be presented at the club’s Player of the Year event on Sunday, May 3rd.
