Former Charlton CEO Peter Varney spoke to Radio Kent yesterday to clarify matters after Katrien Meire claimed in the Russell Slade press conference that the group whose purchase bid he has been fronting, plan to move the club away from The Valley.  He describes the claim as "outrageous" and has demanded a retraction within 48 hours. He also revealed that he had spoken to Roland Duchatelet in recent weeks but had been told that the club is not for sale.
