In normal circumstances we would feel very encouraged by the news that a price had been agreed with "a fifth party" who are currently undertaking due diligence and that both parties are keen to conclude a deal by the end of June. However, Charlton supporters will be forgiven for feeling that they have heard similar sentiments before and that nothing concrete has subsequently transpired.
CAST have recently met with the former owner of a similar sized club who expressed the view that £20m would be a reasonable price for Charlton Athletic, so it continues to be our view that it is Duchatelet's unrealistic price expectation which is holding up the sale.
