I’ve got my seat too! Trust Chair renews early, and gives reasons why..

Chris Powell is doing a great job with limited funds, and hopefully Championship status will be secured very soon but one thing is certain to me: All us Addicks should renew now to give him the best chance to put together a squad for next season.

A number of players will be no doubt be moving on as their contracts come to an end and our Manager will want to refresh his squad ready for the next season. Let us hope we can repeat the progress of the 90s with Valley Gold assisting the academy to improve the squad year on year as we crept up the Championship table.

The board have backed the club for two years now, firstly by securing the signings of 17 or so players in summer 2011 and then by funding the losses of c. £7M per year and with a couple of additions last summer - achieving promotion through first place in the first full year. That will hopefully be followed this year by further gains through consolidation, giving us a great platform to launch from next year.

The Club are also investing heavily in the academy to get it up to the status required by an ambitious club like ours so we are less reliant on other funding for players. Some we win and some we lose but we can be sure that the club is in the best shape for years and cannot be that far from improving on the 2007/08 season when we finished 11th with 64 points, just 6 points off the play-offs.

But we as fans can do our bit too..

Charlton Fans contribute around £6m to CAFC annually in ticket sales. With the various income streams dotted around over the season, and SKY money due in August, the more season ticket revenue the club can get in now the better.

Not only that Addicks benefit from the early bird rates, but hurry the deadline is the 8th of April.

Valley Gold members also get £15 off per member on a season ticket, so you can save cash while helping our excellent academy develop players of the future.

Let's all do our bit, RENEW TODAY. I've got mine and my kids'.
