The Addicks returned from the international break to play the high-flying money pit known as QPR at the weekend.
Those Charlton fans that made the short trip across London saw neat passing football on display, attacking flair and a strike worthy of goal of the season. Unfortunately for the traveling Charlton fans, it wasn’t their own team providing the entertainment, with the Addicks leaving empty handed after a 1-0 defeat.
Next up for the Addicks is Doncaster Rovers. The last time the two teams met you could be forgiven for thinking it was a scene from a Roland Emmerich film. The match was called off with the visiting team 3-1 to the good, much to the disgust to the travelling Donny fans. Doncaster return to the Valley on Tuesday, and while it is unlikely that we will see Louis Tomlinson from One Direction gracing the hallowed Valley turf, we are likely see is Federico Macheda as he returns back on loan from Manchester United after injury. Another player home fans should keep an eye on is winger Mark Duffy who led the line against Yeovil slotting home the winner and picking up the man of the match award. Doncaster will be without South African international Dean Furman after he was shown red against Yeovil for a second bookable offense.
Doncaster's last outing was against bottom of the pile Yeovil Town, where they managed to come out on top with a 2-1 win. Like Charlton, Doncaster have found goals hard to come by this season having only scored two more than Charlton. On the other hand, their defence has seen them ship five more goals than the Addicks. Charlton are likely to see Kermorgant come back to the starting line up after a decent display against QPR, and while the duo of Kermorgant and Church may not be lighting the league up, Powell may fancy a bit more fire-power at home against a team who look more leaky than the Titanic. So who could make way? Prichard has looked out of his depth recently and Jackson was left chasing shadows at QPR, while Harriot could come in to replace Stewart. With Solly still some way away and Cort and Woods injured, expect to see an unchanged back four. Both teams are suffering from indifferent form, so expect a tight match with the Addicks nicking it with two second half goals from Kermorgant.
