Barnsley (home) game off after pitch inspection !!! Preview #CAFC vs #BFC – first post takeover match
New Ownership, 'New pitch', New Start?
Just a quickie this time.
Charlton fans are hoping to get off to a roaring start on Saturday under new ownership..
Roland Duchatelet's first action of bringing in an attacking midfielder was swiftly followed by a second. Rather than taking Charlton to the Dome (and North Greenwich penninsula) he brought the Dome to us, in the form a pitch covering designed to restore the Valley turf back to a playable state - this was after the Oxford match was twice resheduled due to waterlogging caused it seems by the collapse of a drain.

A third addition may come in the form of Liege no 2 keeper Yohann Thuram as Charlton begin to immediately to reap some of the benefits afforded by the multi-club ownership of new owner. However Alpaslan Ozturk another player rumoured has gone elsewhere, as has Hull loanee Stewart Joining Leeds meaning on the outfield the Addicks are about evens, if Smith stays, although Green is also rumoured to be heading towards a loan exit. What does seem lacking is some wide pace, and a nippy centre forward, but last years loanee Obika has signed for Brighton, quelling any thoughts of a return.
Sordell's hamstring would appear to rule him out, but hopefully the team should be a strong first 11 otherwise..
