FA Cup: Saturday/ Sunday means Charlton play Wednesday on Monday – winners play Sheff Utd
Two more quirks of fate at the weekend meant yet more twists in the Addicks' season
The weather once more claimed a Charlton fixture but this time not at the Valley. Saturday's trip to Hillsborough for the 5th round of the FA cup was cut short after a 10:30 am pitch inspection called off the match, and left a number of fans heading to Sheffield and disappointment.
The match against Wednesday has been subsequently rearranged for next Monday, not Tuesday or Wednesday or even Thursday due to UEFA rules about the FA Cup not being played on the same day as Champions League ties according to cafc.co.uk.
Should the Addicks win through after a tough home clash with QPR this Saturday, they face the prospect of meeting Sheffield United in the sixth round. An all Championship draw, but with yet another trip to Sheffield around the weekend of the 8th March.
Charlton have not so far signed any players in the loan window, but it is hoped up to three more players may be coming in.
