North Upper Move Queried – CAFC Season Ticket Prices Announced

Today saw CAFC announce next years season ticket prices including an initiative providing a combination ticket for Cross Bars and the front six rows on the North Upper Stand.

The new arrangements involve gradiated price changes throughout the ground, many seeing falls in cost, and only the most coveted central areas seeing a modest increase.

CAS Trust and members of the Fans Forum were invited to give feedback during a consultation exercise, allowing the club to gauge fan opinion. We are actively pursuing a more structured approach to this generally, but we welcome this opportunity to represent the interests of Charlton fans.

However the main head line that has caught the eye is the Cross Bars initiative. Fans are concerned that they would be compelled to move if they didn't want to pay the new combo price.

BenKensellcroppedCAS Trust while recognising the commercial aspects of today's game is committed to representing the interests of ordinary fans.

We spoke to Ben Kensell Chief Commercial Officer at the Valley to get clarification.

  • CAFC are keen to get better use of the Cross Bars Lounges area which is massively under subscribed
  • Fans who renew before the early bird deadline April 9th 2014  in the affected rows will not* have to buy the combination ticket this year.

It is not clear yet what the club is proposing for Season 2015-16 but going forward CAS Trust strongly urges the club to retain this* option for existing Season Ticket Holders in affected seats for subsequent seasons.

The Trust will be doing a full analysis of the wider changes shortly.
