Charlton's no1 was Leicester bound this week after failing to agree a deal to keep him at the Valley
The keeper who has been maintained a considerable grip on the top spot at Charlton has a reputation as a bit of joker.
He will now be no2 to Kasper Schmiecal who recently renewed his deal at the King Power.
Hamer is one of several regular first team players whose contracts were allowed to run down last season leaving them able to leave on a free transfer at the end of this season. Others still include Michael Morrison whose future is unclear and Dorian Dervite - who it is believed is joining Bolton.
What deals were offered since January if any is unclear but it will be galling for Charlton fans not only to lose good players but not to receive a fee, particularly from the defence which has been the Addicks stronger area.
We'd like to thank Hamer for his service to CAFC. Hopefully he'll be doing more than warming the bench in the Prem something that could hamper his chances for advancement as it has for some who've left Charlton in the past.
