Preview: Blackburn provide Xmas wrapping for Addicks #BRFC #CAFC 20.12.14

Charlton Fans not able to travel to Ewood Park tomorrow will be relieved to have heard the FA cup draw

Charlton were drawn against the Lancashire Club for an FA Cup 3rd round home draw on the 3rd January, 3pm. Well at least its a home draw. (Incidentally The Trust stall won't be open again until at least the 10th January, possibly later).

So back to Saturday. Charlton's failure to beat rock bottom Blackpool last Saturday, left them adrift of the top six on 30 points, 5 points off 6th placed Watford  (who Charlton play away 17th January) and 9 off top spot, in what remains a tight league. In the other direction Blackpool (bottom) have 13 points, while in the top relegation spot, 10th January opponents at the Valley Brighton are on 18, which may be a surprise to some. Other fixtures over Christmas include 1pm Boxing Day at the Valley against Cardiff, and 30th December 7.45pm Ipswich away.

Blackburn are on 31 points in 8th. Both teams have a positive goal difference of 1, but Blackburn have scored and conceded more.

Jackson is a likely absence for Charlton.

Ones to watch for Blackburn are: Gestede on 12, Rhodes on 7 and Marshall on 5.

Prediction: Its hard to see how Peeters can achieve more than a draw on Saturday.
