Here are the results from w/e 15 March:

Standard de Liege, Belgium

Jupiler Pro (1st) League

Standard - Genk: 1-0. Att: 26,711

This was the final game of the regular season, and Standard go into the playoffs. A Standard fan “Defke” from Charlton Life has kindly agreed to supply updates from both Standard and STVV. Here are some words on the Standard game

Today saw a very good Standard. as we like it, fighting for every ball.
For us it was really necessary that we win so we are not further haunted by losses against the others. Genk had to get a draw to make POI. (playoffs) .Exciting match. we had quite a few chances as did Genk but in the 60th minute we scored with a shot from 25 meters and at a speed of 105 kilometers per hour right into the top corner of the goal. Nice goal from Desart. Thuram had caught a few nice balls. Good reflexes. and one out of the top of the corner from his goal -

We have prevailed and so we pushed Genk to POII and helped our Walloon club to POI. it will be a nice POI because we only have four points less than the first placed Club Brugges.

Agrupación Deportiva Alcorcón, Spain

Segunda (2nd) Division

Osasuna – Alcorcon 1-1 Att. 10,585

Charlton Madrid writes: Away to Osasuna today in a rare Saturday afternoon game for Alcorcón.. Osasuna are in crisis at the moment: one place above the relegation zone after dropping down from La Liga last year, their president has just been sent to prison and their sponsors have pulled out. Terrible times for a team that used to be mainstays of Spain's top league.

Újpest FC, Hungary

NB 1 (1st Division)

Ujpest – Paksi SE: 1-2. Att.1,117

"Ujpest Lad" writes:

The misery is still going on at Újpest. We played our latest league game against Paks, a team that is located in a small village in south Hungary - still, they beat us even when we were good. We even lost two championships - finishing second - as the result of bad games against Paks in the last decade.

The game again was boring as hell, we did not even have a real chance. The away team have earned a well deserved 2-0 lead at the 31st minute.
Újpest scored in the 45+1st minute from a long range free kick. Újpest have not scored from free kick since 2012.
We had a good 10-15 minute in the second half, but still, we could not score. Even against 10 men from the 68th minute.

Sint - Truidense VV, Belgium

Belgian Division 2

White Star Bruxelles - STVV: 1-1. Att. 900

Defke reports:

STVV could not convince against White Star Brussels. The Canaries continued stabbing in a 1-1 draw, so they still need three wins to win the title. In STVV, they remain remain wary.

"First we have to get past Patro Eisden, All of the season we focus on match to match. We are not giving up on this attitiude, because we do have some points needed to be absolutely sure of the title. "

STVV however are gradually preparing for a big promotion party, though there is still a lot of caution atn Stayen. "The champagne is already in the basement, but not in the fridge. First we need to acquire mathematical certainty" they say.

With five rounds to go STVV stands alone at the top of the Proximus League. Next placed pursuer Lommel United has eight points less than the Canaries. On the last day the two Limburg clubs play against each other. Then the title race may already be over.

FC Carl Zeiss Jena, Germany
