Here are the results for the week end of 19 April.
Congratulations to The Canaries of Sint-Truiden who clinched the Belgian Second Division title in some style with a game to go.
Standard de Liege, Belgium
Jupiler Pro (1st) League
Standard – Gent: 3-1. Att. 24,050
Defke reports:
What a day - very good Gent in the first half, scored 1 goal . Standard was nothing - no good passes, no nothing - zero was it.
Everybody hoped that the second half goes better, and it was better but not good enough to cause Gent pain. a beautiful shot from Gent striker Pedersen 0-2 . A few minutes later handball by a Gent player penalty bia and 1-2. now the last 10 minutes we played agressive but a counter from gent player Tabekou and 1-3 in the last seconds. I don't understand what Riga did with the team few players in the wrong positions, for me tactic blunder . But ok up to the next game away against Charleroi.
Agrupación Deportiva Alcorcón, Spain
Segunda (2nd) Division
Alcorcon - Mallorca 0-0 Att. n/a
Meh.
Újpest FC, Hungary
NB 1 (1st Division)
Ujpest - Papa : 4-0. Att. 855
An unhappy Ujpest Lad reports:
We had the round closing game against Lombard Pápa at home. Pápa was 15th (out of 16) before the game, while Újpest still at the bottom of the form table, not having won any game since November.
The attendance of 855 is not a mispell. There really were that few people (at least including me...).
The organized fan groups (and as experienced, others as well) are still protesting against Roderick Duchatelet and the Hingarian Football Association (MLSZ).
Even the fact that we played against a team in the relegation zone did not let us be confident (previously this year we have lost home against Pécs 0-2, when they were the 16th, and drawn against Honvéd 2-2, 15th).
However, Pápa is not a simple team in the relegation zone. The owner of the club has also gone bankrupted a few weeks ago (just as Győri ETO owners) in the recend broker scandals of Hungary.

Sint - Truidense VV, Belgium
Belgacom Second Division
Geel - STVV : 1-4 Att.
STVV are Champions!
Defke reports that there were no signs of nerves from STVV, They laid siege to their opponents goal from the start, and helped by some comedy defending, went in at half time 4-0 up. Second place Lommel could only draw, meaning STVV had clinched the title, and 2,000 travelling fans celebrated.
FC Carl Zeiss Jena, Germany
Regionalliga Nordost
FCC - Wacker Nordhausen: 1-1. Att.
