In a bizarre twist to the Charlton take over saga an interview by journalist John Stensholt with Andrew Muir has been published in The Australian.
The article is primarily about Muir's passion for promoting more healthy eating in Australia and a partner ship he has developed with Jamie Oliver - The pilot Learn Your Fruit and Veg Program - which has provided training for 50,000 people so far in Queensland and Western Australia.
In a throwaway line the article notes that "since selling Good Guys in September 2016...Muir has moved his retail attention to the Best Friends pet care chain he owns with private equity firm Archer Capital and free technology start-up Momatu. He is also a director of AFL clun Essendon and has been linked - erroneously, Muir claims - to a bid for lower league English soccer club Charlton Athletic"
One way to be "erroneously" linked to a bid is to turn up at The Valley with other members of a consortium, put on a red and white scarf and hang out in the club shop chatting to supporters before watching the match from the Directors' Box.
The plot thickens...
