Sandgaard: “I love every piece of it”

In this in-depth interview Thomas Sandgaard talks to Benjy Nurick about how he intends to run things; his relationship with Lee Bowyer; the need for stricter EFL eligibility tests; watching "Sunderland 'til I die" and how to combat racism.

"Where there is racism, how does that develop? Well, it typically develops if there is already an existing environment in a home, on the parental side, kids then grow up that way and then eventually find it more likely to hang out with like-minded people. And it’s not something that’s going to be solved overnight but just, in general, making sure that people are better educated on that topic. But there’s a lot of things that need to be done to get there. But efforts like…CACT are doing a lot to try to support the community, including make sure we minimise or eliminate racism.”
