Wednesday February 9th (7pm) is the date for our under 18 team's fifth round FA Youth Cup tie against Brighton. Here are some of the many reasons you should make every effort to be there:
- Our under 18s are a phenomenal squad
- They have an 8 point lead at the top of the u18 Professional Development League South (the competition for Cat 2 Academies) having played 14, won 11, drawn 2 and lost only 1 (on the first day of the season).
- They won the u18 Professional League South by 10 points last season
- They have scored 52 goals - an average of nearly 4 per game. They have conceded 20 so have a positive goal difference of 32
- In December and January they played 7 games, won 6 and drew 1 with a goal difference of 32-9.
- They started February with a 3-1 win over Ipswich
- This game is your opportunity to see Daniel Kanu live. He has scored over 30 goals already this season, including 2 for the u23s. He won't be 18 until November.
- This is not a one man team. You can take your pick. Jason Adigun, Tyreece Campbell, Karoy Anderson and Toby Bower are some that catch the eye. Left back Bower isn't 17 until April
- Enjoy Miles (son of Carl and Tracey) Leaburn.
- Brighton are ninth (of fourteen) in the u18 Premier League (the competition for Cat 1 Academies). They have managed 1 win from their last 6 league games although they did beat Manchester City u18 in the last round.
- The winner of this tie will play Tottenham or Wolves (away) in the quarter finals.
- Tickets are only £3 for adults
In a largely disappointing season why not make this an evening to remember ?
