Supporters Trust Board Member Paul Breen is putting on his walking boots for the Upbeats.
CAST Board Member Paul Breen has signed up for the annual charity walk in aid of the Upbeats Down's Syndrome team. This walk, organised by Charlton Athletic Community Trust, has taken place virtually over the past two years but is returning in hybrid form on Saturday 23rd April, on the day of our last home match of the season.
Those who sign up for the walk have the option of taking the physical route or doing a virtual equivalent. Paul, like many others, has opted to do the physical walk which stretches nine miles from the CAFC Training Ground at Avery Hill to The Valley.
This is his first time of doing the walk and Paul has expressed his excitement at the prospect by saying that "this is such a worthy cause because the Upbeats Down's Syndrome players are a vital part of our club. They're such great ambassadors for what Charlton stands for as a community-focused club and they deserve everyone's support in whatever way we can offer it. I'm glad to be helping them in this way and looking forward to the challenge. Hopefully my feet are up to the job on the day!"
