The new issue of Charlton fanzine My Only Desire has just been released. ‘MODmag’, as it likes to be known, is a quarterly publication that celebrates all that’s good - and prods all that’s bad - about this great club. It is now seven editions old.
Publication of the seventh issue comes just days after it was announced that the 56-page fanzine had begun a partnership with us here at the Charlton Athletic Supporters’ Trust.
The association should, we hope, be mutually beneficial. From MODmag’s point of view it can hopefully get the magazine into the hands of lots more Charlton fans and, similarly, we’re hoping we can help swell the numbers of CAST members from its burgeoning readership.
This latest edition features exclusive interviews with ex-Addicks Danny Mills and Lawrie Wilson as well as a host of other articles. There are features on club chants, the Community Trust, ticket prices, Paolo Di Canio and that whole NFT club shorts sponsor debacle. There’s even a chat with South London Press journo and all-round South East London football guru Richard Cawley. And plenty more besides.
The fanzine should be available to buy outside the ground on certain home match days, as well as being on sale at The Charlton Athletic Museum and in some pubs in SE7.
You can also purchase issue #7 online from https://www.modmag.co.uk/#YxLnMs for £4 per copy. Annual subscriptions can be bought for £16. P&P is included in the price of subscriptions
If you’d like to see what you’ve missed from the first six editions - if indeed you have missed it - back issues of editions 2-6 are currently on sale from the website at half price.
The MODmag team have also recently launched a monthly podcast. The first three episodes of which feature interviews with club legends Paul Mortimer and Steve Brown and are available to listen to now from wherever you get your podcasts.
