Peter Varney issued two tweets on Wednesday encouraging  Charlton fans to buy tickets for the Brighton Carabao Cup game on Wednesday 21st December.

"If you care about Charlton even if you feel disillusioned at present please buy your ticket for the Brighton cup game and come with the mindset to create a passionate atmosphere as it is very important to showcase the club on that night."

"Just under 5,000 Charlton fans follow my twitter account and you could all influence the attendance  being over 20,000 particularly as the ticket pricing is right. Over to you!!"

We couldn't possibly speculate on why he chose to issue the tweets but, with tickets for the game costing £15 for adults; £10 for seniors and under 21, and £1 for under 11s, why not follow his lead and get behind the team on Dec 21st ?
