A waterlogged pitch at Blackburn last weekend meant that Charlton Women were denied the opportunity to record their seventh consecutive win and to keep pace with the top two in The Barclay's Women's Championship.
London City Lionesses and Bristol City Women both won their games. Bristol narrowly overcame Coventry Women 3-2 but The Lionesses 5-0 win at Crystal Palace was a real statement result which suggests that they are currently worthy favourites for promotion.
The top two face each other this weekend so our women have the chance to make up ground if they can beat Lewes at The Oakwood on Sunday (2pm kick off). They were beaten twice by Lewes at The Dripping Pan back in October (in the league and the league cup) but current form and home advantage suggest all three points are attainable.
