After two postponements because of frozen pitches Charlton Women return to League action on Sunday against bottom of the table Coventry United. Having seen off AFC Wimbledon last weekend in the FA Cup, victory over Coventry would mean an eighth win on the spin.
However, the three points are by no means guaranteed. After losing their first nine games Coventry were only beaten by two injury time goals at second place Bristol City in their tenth game. Last time out they finally got points on the board with a 3-2 win over Crystal Palace and they followed that up with a 4-0 win against Hashtag United in the Cup.
A Charlton win could narrow the gap on League leaders London City Lionesses to two points if the Lionesses slip up against Sunderland. The gap between the Women's Super League and the Championship is however exemplified by the fact that the Lionesses were despatched 5-0 last weekend in the Cup.
