The quarterly Fans Forum scheduled for November 30th has been postponed.
The club have advised us and other Fans' Forum attendees that James Rodwell, Chairman of the Board and the club’s Managing Director, is unable to attend the meeting as he is at an EFL Trust meeting that day. CAST recognises that we are currently in a transition phase as far as fan engagement is concerned. We are encouraging the club to reschedule the Fans' Forum as soon as possible and advised the club of a number of topics raised recently by fans.
In the meantime the club updated as follows on matchday parking restrictions: "The club are following up with the council after the end of their consultation period. We’d like to thank the Supporters’ Trust for their contributions to date, including a survey of supporters that had more than 1,500 responses. We will follow up directly with CAST on next steps, as well as continuing to keep the wider fanbase informed on progress."
The club also advised that they are in listening mode on the topic of a shadow board and have invited comments on this from fan groups by early in the New Year. CAST is gathering information and liaising with our colleagues across football on this topic to gather best practice examples and learn about the potential pitfalls. We will keep our members and the wider fanbase informed over the next few weeks and welcome input to secretary@castrust.org.
The club have assured us that they will reschedule the Fans' Forum and will continue the regular updates from Technical Director, Andy Scott, and James Rodwell. And in addition supporters can hear directly from the pair when they appear at the next meeting of the Bromley Addicks, on Thursday, December 7th.
If you are not already among the almost 2,700 Charlton supporters who are members of CAST, do join today - it only costs £5 annually.
