On Tuesday this week Premier League CEO Richard Masters and EFL chairman Rick Parry appeared today before Parliament’s cross-party Culture, Media and Sport Committee. MPs quizzed the pair on the need for an independent regulator and the state of football finances.
The committee hearing covered:
- parachute payments
- the need for an independent regulator
- whether points deductions make league tables meaningless
- the Saturday blackout and women's football
- the situation at Reading FC
Eltham MP Clive Efford put questions on the financial disparity between the Premier League and The Championship.
