The weekend before last it seemed as if Charlton Women had thrown away their promotion chance when they lost 0-1 at home to Reading while Crystal Palace beat Sheffield United 1-0.
However, last weekend a fine 1-0 win at Durham coupled with Palace's 0-2 defeat in the return match at Sheffield means that the challenge is very much back on with despite Southampton's resounding 5-0 defeat of Reading.
Charlton and Palace are now both one point behind leaders Sunderland and level with Southampton with a game in hand.
This Sunday our women's team host London City Lionesses at The Valley (2pm kick off). Although LCL are in ninth place it will not be easy as they beat Sunderland 1-0 last weekend.
