Unveiling Burro x CAST T-Shirts

Ahead of the new season, CAST are delighted to launch a limited range of merchandise commissioned from iconic fashion brand Burro, featuring an updated old favourite “Che Hales” and two brand new designs.

The items are now on sale here:  https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/CASTrustorg

Prices are affordable at £20 per adult t-shirt (£15 for children) plus postage to give Addicks a quirky option to wear on occasion during the 24/25 season and out and about around SE7, London, Kent, the world! The initiative is not for profit - any small surplus will be ploughed back into CAST’s fan engagement to benefit our club and community.

This project has been long in the planning. As great admirers of the Che Hales design but finding that our old tops were now a bit too threadbare or faded to see the light of day, CAST sought out the designer - Olaf Parker of Burro.

From its launch in 1990, Burro was considered to be one of the most influential brands in contemporary menswear.  Burro’s ‘No alla Violenza’ tops became an instant hit and an integral part of both the acid house and football scenes alike. By the summer of 1990 there was hardly anyone in British pop culture from The Farm, Blur, and Norman Cook (Fatboy Slim) who didn’t have one…

Olaf, an Addick himself, has been excited to be commissioned by CAST and to get back involved with the Charlton faithful. He has worked tirelessly on the three designs – with the potential of more to come in the future.

Fans will be familiar with the classic Che Hales image depicting 1970s cult hero striker Derek ‘Killer’ Hales in rebel mode. Burro’s original design first hit the Charlton scene in the early 2000s, initially on a clothing range then enlarged as the Derek ‘Killer’ Hales flag that was lofted above fans at The Valley for many a year.

A brand new Burro x CAST design sums up the legendary status of long-term manager Alan Curbishley as King Curbs – launched with his blessing. Keep a pen handy if you’re wearing the t-shirt just in case you cross paths!

The third unique design – available in a wider range of colour options and kids’ sizes - questions what anatomically-correct representations of two haddocks have to do with London SE7… If you know, you know.

CAST spent time seeking out a production method to match affordability with quality. The t-shirts have been tried and tested and don’t run in the wash so order in confidence. All are printed to order so please choose sizes carefully as items cannot be returned. You can check precise sizes on the chart shown on the Etsy website alongside each t-shirt option. If you have any questions, difficulties - or positive suggestions - regarding the merch, please email merch@castrust.org

And remember any surplus that CAST makes from sales will be put back into initiatives that will benefit Charlton fans and the club we all support.

All available NOW, and ready to be shipped worldwide! Partner your Burro x CAST t-shirt with a bucket hat from the Charlton Museum and you’re all set for summer and beyond.
