The Football Supporters Association (FSA) has requested that supporters lobby their local MPs to support five amendments that the FSA have put forward to improve the (already improved) Football Governance Bill which is currently going through Parliament.
The amendments seek to improve the legislation in terms of:
- Ensuring the Independent Regulator consults supporters and support associations
- Ensuring that clubs include Supporters' Trusts in their fan engagement plans
- Stopping clubs moving games overseas
- Further defining "relevant revenue" to be redistributed to avoid loopholes
- Ensuring that independent non-executive directors (“INEDs”) are in place at every club that are able to
provide proper scrutiny and challenge to the owners and other executive directors.
