Women – back in contention?

For the first time since November, our women's team return home to The Valley this weekend when they take on relegation threatened Sheffield United (kick off 2pm)

Karen Hills's side come into the game buoyed by a 2-1 victory over Durham last time out with goals coming from Kayleigh Barton and Atlanta Primus. The victory bumped the Addicks up to sixth place in the Championship, five points off top of the table Birmingham City.

The home team will take some confidence into this match knowing they beat this weekend's visitors 1-0 earlier in the season thanks to an Ellie Brazil goal.

A promotion push is looking tricky at this stage of the season but, with Charlton facing the bottom three consecutively, now is the time to make a leap up towards top spot. Maximum points from those three games would mean that the women would enter the business end of the season well placed to challenge Birmingham, Bristol City and London City Lionesses for the promotion spot.

Tickets can be purchased at The Valley on the day or in advance here:
