Easter Sunday marks Charlton’s last home game of the Women’s Championship season. Newcastle are the visitors to The Valley for a noon kick off and Karen Hills’s side will be looking for victory to cling on to faint promotion hopes. Those hopes may already have been be dashed if London City Lionesses win on Friday but The Addicks will want to finish the season strongly regardless. Some might claim it will take a miracle to revive Charlton’s promotion campaign and most would take a timely resurrection this weekend.
The reverse fixture was an eventful 3-3 draw in October. The Addicks were 3-1 down leading into injury time before Kayleigh Barton and Katie Bradley scored in the 94th and 95th minute respectively to salvage a draw. The defence will need to be on their toes, Newcastle hit 6 to defeat Blackburn Rovers last time out.
Charlton scored four themselves against Sunderland but made life hard for themselves. Ellie Brazil scored a hat trick with Jodie Hutton also chipping in to send the team 4-0 up at half time, the second half is better off not discussed.
This weekend's fixture is Kids for a Quid and the fans zone will be open before kick off with an Easter egg hunt from 10:30-11:00 followed by a signing session from 11:00-11:30am.
Tickets can be purchased here or at the ticket office before the game:
