Alex joins the CAST board

We are delighted that Alex Whitmore has agreed to be co-opted on to the CAST board until the 2025 AGM.

Alex works for a medical research charity and is part of the FSA Green Working Group aimed at making the game more environmentally friendly. He first attended The Valley in 2005 witnessing a 4-1 defeat to West Bromwich Albion with Jonaton Johansson on the scoresheet for the Addicks. He didn't allow that to put him off becoming a loyal Addick however and CAST is already benefitting from his extensive knowledge of football and the football industry.

CAST's constitution allows for the co-option of board members when numbers fall below ten and, with Lauren Kreamer stepping down recently we are grateful to Alex for stepping up.

We are sure that all Charlton fans would want to wish Lauren all the best and thank her for her unique contribution during the shenanigan years. We won't forget her stunning performance in the Manchester Civil Justice Centre successfully arguing for a refusal of Paul Elliott's application for an injunction against the selling of the club. We still celebrate the robust and forthright response she penned which swiftly saw off Southall's hollow threat to sue CAST for defamation.

If you are interested in joining the CAST board we will be inviting nominations for new board members in the summer ahead of our November AGM. Please watch this space.
