The final game of the season is upon us and Karen Hills will be hoping her side finish in style.
A trip to seaside Southampton is in store for the Addicks and we hope that the team won’t be on the beach. They could be pipped for third place by Durham and, with a five goal swing, they could also be caught by Newcastle. Finishing fifth would be very disappointing after such a strong start to the season.
It has been a fortnight since a 1-1 draw at home to Newcastle, Jodie Hutton scored for Charlton before being forced off with injury. Sophie Whitehouse was the star of the show and her teammates have her to thank for keeping the score down.
Southampton have spent another season floating around the middle of the division and have been in poor form recently, Karen Hills will be hoping to add to that before the summer break.
The big game of the day is the meeting between second place Birmingham and leaders London City, who only need a draw to be promoted. Whichever team goes up it will be interesting to see whether they can fare better than Bristol City and Crystal Palace who were immediately relegated again.
