Durham trip for the Women on Sunday

It’s a long trip to Durham, but, after their impressive win in the season-opener against Palace, Charlton will be hoping to come back from the North with another three points this Sunday.

They will need to carry last weekend's momentum into Sunday's fixture at The Graham Sports Centre (midday kick off). Emma Bissell scored The Addicks sole goal against newly relegated Crystal Palace following some impressive pressing. Mary McAteer had hit the crossbar moments before and Lucy Fitzgerald squandered a fantastic opportunity later when one on one with The Eagles’ keeper. However, while Charlton will feel they should have scored more, they also have Sophie Whitehouse to thank for keeping a clean sheet. The keeper pulled off some impressive saves.

Durham won their first game too, travelling down to Portsmouth and coming away two goals to the good. Grace Ede slotting the first in with a smart first time finish. The second goal came from a well worked passing move that was eventually turned in by Mariana Speckmaier. They showed their ability to play slick passing football as well as mix it up with long balls. The centre of midfield will be important and it would be no surprise to see Mary McAteer come in to replace the suspended Katie Bradley.

This weekend's game will be streamed live on YouTube and supporters can tune in here:
