The news that a very small number of tickets (350-400 per game according to Daniel Storey) will be made available at $60 for World Cup matches next year has been greeted as "PR games by FIFA" by The Football Supporters Association
Football Supporters Europe has put it in context:
"England v Croatia. Approx 1% of the fans in The Dallas Stadium will have $60 seats via their national associations. That is about 800 from 70,000. FIFA must do more"
"There is still the question of supporters with disabilities, as no new pricing structure has been announced for them and complementary companion tickets still seem to be absent"
"We are looking at the FIFA announcement as nothing more than an appeasement tactic due to the global negative backlash. We call upon FIFA to engage in a proper dialogue to arrive at a solution that respects the contribution of fans and the dignity of fans with disabilities"
The $60 tickets will only be available through national federations.
