New Charlton books published

Local journalist and CAST member Matt Eastley has updated his 2012 books "Charlton Athletic On This Day" and "The Charlton Athletic Miscellany".

The books cost £9.99 each and are excellent value.

Charlton Athletic On This Day provides a record of significant events on and off the pitch from every single day of the year. We all know about December 5th and May 25th but can you recall the events of 29th April 1975 and 2006? What about 26th April 1947 and 1958?  Where were you on 13th March 2010 and 2016?

Charlton Athletic Miscellany is a collection of fascinating facts about the club. Can you name the Charlton players with the shortest and longest name?  (No, it isn't Rob Lee because he was Robert in those days). And did you know that, in 22 attempts, Charlton have never won a game played on April 16th? (drawn 7, lost 15 but don't worry as it is a Thursday this season).

The author explains:

"Bringing these books up to date was fascinating as it reminded me of the utter absurdity of much of the intervening period when the Valley's managerial merry-go-round was spinning at comedy pace and one unmentionable character loomed large. Anyway, dare I say both books makes perfect stocking fillers and I must express thanks to all those who helped me turn both books round in double quick time, namely Rick Everitt, Ben Hayes at the Charlton Museum, Stuart Court, Ian Wallis and Richard Wiseman of CAST."
