Thank you Pompey Fans

CAST board members Richard Wiseman and Jade Hannan received a cheque from Portsmouth supporter Craig New and his daughter Isabella at Fratton Park on Monday night.

Craig decided to start a fundraising platform in memory of Norman Barker on the train on the way home from the abandoned match at The Valley on December 6th. Three weeks later an amazing 582 individual Portsmouth supporters had contributed to the fund which reached £7170.

Portsmouth CEO Andrew Cullen said "We were delighted with the reception that supporters from both clubs gave to both Craig's cheque presentation and then the involvement of everyone with the subsequent joint minute's applause for Norman and our supporter, Alec Lumb. It was very much an occasion which represented everything good about the football family illustrating how everyone comes together to recognise difficult moments such as these but in such a positive manner"

CAST's own fundraising has brought in over £11,000 and we are confident that it will soon be possible to commission a fitting memorial to Norman. We will be considering a number of options over the next few weeks in conjunction with the club and Norman's family.
