The Annual General Meeting of the Football Supporters’ Association takes place at Bush House on 6th June 2026
In the week when Spygate and the Championship Playoffs are big news, it turns out that the inspiration for CAST’s motion to the AGM is more topical than we thought.
Earlier this year EFL clubs voted to change the format of the Championship Playoffs. From the clubs’ perspective there will have been pros and cons to the proposal. However changes to competitions have far reaching consequences for clubs, supporters and the wider pyramid. So CAST felt it was important that fans are properly consulted prior to such decisions in order to reinforce the principals of good governance practices across the game.
The intent of our motion is to give the FSA greater support via a mandate to campaign for consultation on any future proposals. It is not about reliving the Championship Playoff decision, it is future proofed against eventualities by referring to ‘competition organisers’ in general.
The motion is proposed by CAST and seconded by Millwall Supporters’ Club (yes, you read that right)
As part of its continuing commitment to sporting integrity, the FSA resolves to seek agreement from the Competition Organisers (i.e EFL, PL, WSL, NL etc) that they will direct their clubs to consult fans prior to votes on changes to the structure of the season and the mechanisms for promotion and relegation.
At the AGM delegates from supporters’ groups and individual members will get to vote on the motion. If passed, it will become FSA policy
The FSA AGM is open to all. Voting on motions is a small part of the day. Fans will be able to learn from fellow fans and take part in workshops on subjects ranging from social media to young supporter activism.
If you would like to go, it’s free. More details including how to register here
