Your opportunity to shape the CAST agenda

CAST is calling on members to submit resolutions for the AGM to be held on 19th November 2026.

By submitting a resolution on which members can vote, you have the opportunity to help CAST prioritise activities and / or give CAST a mandate to campaign for issues that are important to Charlton fans. Those issues may concern the club, The Valley or wider matters in football.

An example of a previous motion was when the CAST board asked for a member vote to ensure that the definition of "the club" in CAST's constitution included Charlton Athletic Women FC. The motion was passed conclusively.

CAST itself put a motion before the AGM of the Football Supporters' Association this year as follows:

FSA AGM Motion 1: 'As part of its continuing commitment to sporting integrity, the FSA resolves to seek agreement from the Competition Organisers (i.e. EFL, PL, WSL, NL etc) that they will direct their clubs to consult fans prior to votes on changes to the structure of the season and the mechanisms for promotion and relegation". CAST's  motion was passed and the FSA has already updated the EFL on the mandate and CAST has updated Charlton Athletic via a meeting with Gavin Carter. Both have taken it on board and we should expect fans to be consulted as a result

Resolutions for the AGM  should be proposed and seconded and submitted to:

secretary@castrust.org

by 22nd October.

Please note that the CAST rules also state that:

26.1.1  any direction must be consistent with these rules and with the society's contractual, statutory & other legal obligations and

26.1.2. not affect the powers and responsibilities of the Society Board under Rule 27 (which is duties & powers of board of directors)

The CAST board will review the resolutions and may come back to ask for more information or to make a suggestion ahead of the resolution being put in front of CAST members for a vote at the AGM. If passed by a two thirds majority of those present at the AGM the resolution will become CAST policy.
