CAST has lunch with the players

As an official supporters group CAST was invited to The Valley on Monday to join fans from other groups to watch the players training, have lunch with them and witness the photoshoot for the official 2026/27 squad photo.

CAST member Thomas Tadman attended and commented:

"It was a brilliant event and one I thoroughly enjoyed. The opportunity to attend an open training session provided a small insight into the things that happen behind the scenes which differs from the usual perspective from what a supporter typically experiences on match days.

For me, there were two standout aspects. One of which was the chance to interact with other fan groups. It created a sense of community while seeing people from all walks of life that have come together for one unifying reason.
The other highlight was undoubtedly the opportunity to meet and speak with the players in a more relaxed environment. Unlike match days, where the players are understandably focused on preparation or the outcome of the game, this event allowed for genuine conversations and interactions. The players were approachable, engaged and generous with the information they discussed, which made the experience memorable.

Events such as these help strengthen the connection between the club, players and supporters. I felt very fortunate to have had this opportunity."

To see more photos of the day including ones in which our fans look a million dollars; players are in their bare feet; Karlan Grant is blowing on imaginary hot food; and the expression on Harvey Knibbs' face when he got told a joke:
